Ultimately I found that I've been making all sorts of smoothie combinations! Berries and bananas, kale, berries and bananas, bananas coconut and berries... and lately this apple and kale combination with the apples that a friend kindly brought me from a local farm. I have been using these delicious green apples not only in smoothies and juices but also in salads and breakfasts! I love apples, particularly green apples. I developed a more 'profound' taste for them while I was expecting Lia! I was obsessed with green apples! I would eat green apples almost the entire day!
I like experimenting with new flavors, so this 'crunchy green smoothie bowl' has been the result of many of these smoothie experiments that I've been incorporating into my new eating habit routine. I just enjoy it so much!
This one particularly is a 'very refreshing combination' with non-dairy and non-refined sugar, in fact, it has almost no sugar but still (naturally) sweet enough (and delicious) to satisfied that sweet craving. A perfect choice when trying to avoid sugar!
The apples give this smoothie a crunchy and thick texture so you can serve it in a bowl and enjoy it with a spoon instead of drinking it with a straw! Incredibly refreshing.
Ps: If you want to read more about why I decided to quit refined sugar you can read more here.
