Playing with Flavors + Apple Focaccia Bread

A new season has arrived!  Autumn …farewell summer. As autumn arrives and the weather changes, bringing back cool days-- I could not resist the opportunity to turn on my oven and start baking. The first thought that came into my mind this weekend…  “Manzanas” “Apples”. The smell of apples inspired me to try something different this time. ‘’Una focaccia de Manzanas’’  ‘’A Focaccia with Apples’’.  J. absolutely loved this new idea of adding apples to this savory bread.  Focaccia is something that I make often and I wanted to try adding some new flavors to it. That was the perfect excuse to bake and celebrate the beginning of this new season. I made the focaccia bread using this recipe >>> that you can find here.

I cut thin slices of apples and topped the entire bread dough-  And sprinkled with brown sugar and dry thyme leaves for a touch of aromatic sense. I could not wait for this new flavored bread to come out of the oven to savor it. I took the first piece in my hands {while the bread was still hot} and contemplated it for a few seconds – I felt much satisfaction for what I’ve done! I cut the small piece in half and spread it with some butter and marmalade… Delicious! For a moment I wanted to take my picnic basket and filled it with focaccia slices, butter, milk and marmalade and have afternoon tea at the park. But unfortunately days haven't been so inviting this last week, so we set up our picnic table and had our ‘’merienda’’ afternoon tea  at home while listening some 80’s tunes.
