Custard with Caramelized Apples
1 C. Milk
2 Tbsp. cornstarch/ Maizena
2 egg yolks
3 Tbsp. Sugar
1 tsp. lemon zest
1/4 tsp. vanilla essence
1 tsp. butter
Preparation:
In a medium saucepan melt the butter over medium heat. Meanwhile take a measuring cup and add the cornstarch and milk. Using a fork mix well until cornstarch is dissolve. Using a whisk add milk gradually into the butter--Stirring constantly--.Add the egg yolks, sugar, lemon zest and vanilla essence. Cook for a couple of minutes, until custard start to thicken. Serve warm or cool.
For the Caramelized Apples
Take an apple and cut into thin slices. Set aside. In a medium pan--over medium heat--melt 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter. Add apple slices + 3 Tbsp. brown sugar + 1 tsp. lemon juice. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until sugar star to caramelized and apple slices are tender and golden brown.Serve with the custard.

oh i love it. i have tons of apples in my fridge begging to be used... was thinking of something savory, but this makes sense. super delicioso se ve. gusto en encontrar tu blog.
